Range Repair

DK Appliance Repair offers you a high quality work on many brands of Ranges:

Stoves and Ranges - when you have a range that isn't cooking reliably or not at all and hungry folks waiting for food you know how important a range is! If your digital display isn't working or flashing an error reading, the burners aren't working properly or you smell gas give DK Appliance Repair a call.

Daily use of a range can cause the appliance to become dirty and grimy. Food spills and splatters can make your range top and oven look disgusting and put off an unpleasant odor. Range tops should be wiped down once a week and spills or splatters should be dealt with as soon as they happen. A thorough cleaning of your range should be done once a month.

Cleaning the Range Burner Grates

When cooking, it is common to accidentally spill ingredients onto the range burner grates. When this happens, the heat from the burner will cook the ingredients, making them stick to the burner grates. Cleaning the grates can be done by removing the burner grates from the range and placing them on top of newspaper. Make sure the burner grates are completely cooled before touching them. Once the grates are placed on the newspaper, use a steel wool pad to scrub the grates, removing as much of the caked-on food as possible. Fill the kitchen sink with warm soapy water and submerge the grates into the water. Allow them to sit for a few hours or overnight. Scrub the burner grates with a clean piece of steel wool until all the cooked food and grim are removed. Rinse the grates and allow to dry.

Cleaning the Reflector Bowls

Most gas ranges have reflector bowls located under the burners. The reflector can be removed and soaked in hot, soapy water for 20 minutes. Wipe the reflector bowls down with a sponge saturated in warm, soapy water. Mix a paste of baking soda and water and apply to tough, stuck-on grim. Scrub with a plastic mesh pad until all debris has been removed. Rinse the reflector bowls and allow to dry.

Cleaning the Range Tops

Wipe down the cook top with a damp sponge or cloth. This will typically remove most of the debris. For a sticky or greasy mess, wipe the range top with a sponge saturated in warm, soapy water. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry. If there is still grim and built-up stuck on the range top, lay a soapy cloth over the built-up to loosen the debris for 10 minutes. Rub the area with a sponge or plastic mesh pad to remove the built-up. Rinse and wipe dry.
